Confirmation Cake #1

It always means a lot when a friend asks me to make a cake for their child. I’m always nervous, but it motivates me to work harder!

My friend, Jennifer, asked me to make her daughter’s cake to celebrate her confirmation into the Catholic Church. Neither one of us had any ideas about what a Confirmation cake should look like, and after perusing Pinterest and Google I still was at a loss!

I looked back at some old cakes I had made and landed on the ones I made for our church’s bake sale. The one with the rosary stood out to me. And I thought about the carrot cake I made for Easter. I liked the flowers. Jennifer had mentioned the thought of using Cecilia’s confirmation name: St. Maximilian Kolbe. (Look him up and read his story!)

So, I sketched up an idea…

She loved it. Cece loved it. So, I made it so!

I loved watching this cake as I progressed! And I was honored to make it for a sweet young lady!

Have a blessed day, Cece!
